A24’s “Civil War” stayed at number one in its second weekend with another $11M for a domestic cume of $45M. The dystopian action movie sports a B- CinemaScore, with the audience skewing heavily male â 73%.
BOX OFFICE RUNNER-UPS: Comcast (CMCSA) subsidiary Universal’s “Abigail” placed number two with a $10.2M debut. Behind it was Warner Bros. (WBD) and Legendary’s “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” with another $9.8M as it crossed the $170M mark domestically. Lionsgate (LGF.B) new movie “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” placed number four with a $9M debut. Rounding out the top five, Sony (SONY)/Crunchyroll’s new anime offering “Spy à Family Code: White” grossed an estimated $4.9M.
